Environmental Protection and Enhancement
Ladbroke Security do not have an Environmental Management System in place at this time, we do however place a great deal of emphasis on environmental protection and enhancement and are keen to work with others to further sustainable development and therefore we have taken membership with National Britannia Limited Responseline for information and assistance. Copy Certificate for Responseline enclosed.
We endeavour to understand the impact of our business on the environment and are taking steps to minimise any adverse environmental impact our working practices have on the environment and therefore we are currently endeavouring to ensure:
- that materials used are from sustainable manage sources, e.g. timber from sustainable managed forests
- that materials and products used have been processed in a way which causes minimum damage to the environment
- increase the proportion of products used which have been made from recycled materials
- any surplus or waste material is disposed of in a way that causes the least possible adverse impact on the environment
- reduce waste production and increase the proportion of materials re-used and recycled
- discourage car use and reduce the number of unnecessary motor vehicle trips
- Ladbroke Security have recently introduced Hybrid cars to reduce carbon emissions
- encourage walking, cycling and the use of public transport
- reduce fuel consumption through, for example, increasing fuel efficiency, driver training, good vehicle maintenance and route planning
- reduce the use of energy for other purposes through, for example, promoting energy saving behaviour, use of energy efficient equipment and good design practices. It is our proposal to introduce solar power panels to charge batteries to provide electrical back up to our UPS system.
- increase the proportion of energy used which is from renewable sources
- reduce water use and increase the proportion of water re-used
protect natural resources and green spaces and increasing biodiversity
- reduce air and water pollution and prevent land contamination
- reduce noise and light pollution
